Nice piece Kevin. This film resonates strongly with me... not least because I was in it! Not in a big way, mind you: I was a senior in high school in the Philippines at the time, and Coppola needed some young white guys as extras for the USO scene, so a bunch of us spent 3 days in the jungle shooting it. An unforgettable experience.
